SAT™ & ACT® TEST PREP

Winter/Spring 2010

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to A+ Skills SAT™ & ACT® Prep™ where we are dedicated to student success on the SAT™ and ACT® exams! With the onset of the current recession it is even more important that students succeed so we have temporarily lowered our fees to make the courses more affordable! New fees will be $ 425.00, a reduction from $ 675.00 for the complete SAT™ course and $ 250.00 for the half courses, a reduction from the previous $ 375.00. Fees for the ACT® are $ 469 for the complete course and $ 250 for the 10 hour verbal half course and $ 285 for the 12 hour Math/Science half course. As a result of feedback, the ACT courses which include the Math/Science have been lengthened by 2 hours. The fees include an up-front Diagnostic Test, our study book and other materials. We have also lowered our hourly rate for One-to-One private tutoring to $ 50 per hour and introduced a discounted 10 hour package for $ 375.00.

Working under the tutelage of our highly trained staff and in a small group setting the objective of A+ Skills SAT & ACT® Prep™ is to increase each student’s emotional confidence and SAT and/or their ACT® scores significantly.  That said, it must be understood that achieving this goal takes student dedication to the SAT/ACT® test preparation process including attendance at all scheduled sessions and completion in a timely manner of all homework assignments.  Also, we suggest that students practice, practice and more practice so that they become easily comfortable with the instructions and formats, etc.

Included in the course will be a sophisticated and individualized SAT or ACT® evaluation for each student based on real SAT and ACT® practice tests in a simulated test-taking environment. This evaluation, which will be administered at the beginning of each SAT and ACT® course, will provide the student and instructor diagnostic information that will be used to focus study work during the class. Also included will be general and specific problem strategies to maximize each student’s results on the SAT™ and ACT® exams.  Students will also learn and practice alternative strategies and methods to solve certain types of questions and will practice self-pacing for the lengthy exams.

To accomplish the stated objectives the following are the outlines and the schedules for the small group SAT™ and ACT® courses for Winter/Spring 2010:

Upcoming Winter/Spring 2010 Student Opportunities

Each student is different – hence we are offering our SAT and ACT® program three ways:

Or as One-to-One Tutoring where the tutor can totally personalize the experience including the tutoring times.
