Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to A+ Skills SAT™ & ACT® Prep™ where we are dedicated to student success on the SAT™ and ACT® exams - And where our student’s scores go up big-time!

Working under the tutelage of our highly trained staff and in a small group setting - our program will help each student to increase their confidence and their SAT™ and ACT® scores! 

The objective of A+ Skills SAT™ & ACT® Prep™ is to increase each student’s emotional confidence and SAT™ and/or their ACT® scores significantly.  That said, it must be understood that achieving this goal takes student dedication to the SAT™/ACT® test preparation process including attendance at all scheduled sessions and completion in a timely manner of all homework assignments.  Also, we suggest that students practice, practice and more practice so that they become easily comfortable with the instructions and formats, etc.

Included in the course will be a sophisticated and individualized SAT™ or ACT® optional free diagnostic test for each student based on real SAT™ and ACT® practice tests in a simulated test-taking environment. This diagnostic test which we highly recommend, will be administered at the beginning of each SAT™ and ACT® course and will provide the student and instructor the kind of information that is used to focus student attention during the course. Also included will be general and specific problem strategies to maximize each student’s results on the SAT™ and ACT® exams.  Students will also learn and practice alternative strategies and methods to solve certain types of questions and will practice self-pacing for the lengthy exams.

To accomplish the stated objectives the following are the outlines and the schedules for the small group SAT™ and ACT® courses for Fall 2008:

Upcoming Fall 2008 Student Opportunities

Each student is different – hence we are offering our SAT™ and ACT® program in three ways:

• Either as a complete 5 week small group course that covers the Mathematics, Science (ACT®), Reading and Writing Sections;
• Or in two half small group courses – each covering only the Math and/or Science (ACT®) Sections or the English, Reading and Writing Sections – for students who only feel they need assistance in a portion of the SAT™ or ACT® exam;
• Or as One-to-One Tutoring where the tutor can totally personalize the experience including the tutoring times.

Course Content - SAT™

The content of the complete course will include basic verbal and mathematics skills, test-taking and SAT™ specific strategies for all three sections of the SAT™: Mathematics, Critical Reading, and Writing.

The ACT® exam is a set of four multiple choice tests covering English, Reading, Math, Science
and an optional Writing section.

The half courses will cover either the Mathematics or Verbal components of the appropriate exam.

Tuition

Fees for the complete SAT™ and ACT® Prep™ courses are $ 675 for the full 20 hour course and
$ 375 for each of the half-courses.  The fee includes all materials and handouts, the course book and the diagnostic test but does not include a calculator.  Payment is by check or credit card (Discover, MasterCard or Visa).  To achieve a proper count, A+ Skills SAT™ and ACT® Prep™ require full tuition upon course registration and a seat is not guaranteed until the tuition has been paid.  There is a $100.00 cancellation fee and all cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to the start of each session. No money will be refunded for cancellations made less than 14 days from the start of each SAT™ and ACT® Prep course.
